Living La Dolce Vita
Journey from Rome's eternal grandeur through Venice's romantic waterways to Portofino's coastal elegance, where three-Michelin-starred cuisine and exclusive access to noble palaces reveal why Italy remains the world's ultimate destination for those who understand that luxury means living beautifully.
Day One
Transfer to La Minerva Orient Express and a chance to relax and enjoy Roman elegance at this magnificent hotel. A welcome dinner will be served at The Rooftop restaurant at the hotel, showcasing Roman culinary delights, whilst offering glimpses of the cultural immersion that awaits.
Day Two
The Orient Express team will take you to the station where you will board La Dolce Vita. The train will arrive in Venice in the late afternoon, where you will able to choose to explore Venice on your own. Enjoy one of our specially curated Venetian experiences from intimate journeys through the quiet canals, visiting Scala Contarini del Bovolo with astonishing views of an illuminated Venice, or rare, after hours access to the Doge's Palace concluding with a special dinner at a private noble Palazzo.
Day Three
The train will travel overnight to Portofino, where you will arrive this morning. Today you can choose to enjoy Portofino on your own and have lunch on the train, or, enjoy an experience that captures the essence of Italian Riviera lifestyle, options include a visit to historic Castello Brown with panoramic bay views, authentic pesto-making workshops with master chefs, or enjoying Portofino's legendary charm, after which you will enjoy a delightful lunch at one of the most scenic spots in Portofino. The train will continue its journey through beautiful scenery back to Rome and dinner will be served under the masterful eye of our 3 Michelin Star chef.
Day Four
The train arrives back at Rome Ostiense station where you will be driven back to La Minerva Orient Express. Relax and enjoy the hotel and the chance to explore Rome, you will find in your room a list of recommended places to eat, have a coffee or a gelato!
Day Five
Today you can choose from exclusive cultural experiences including a private Vatican viewing with rare access, after-hours visits to the Pantheon, or explorations of Rome's artistic quarters. Your farewell dinner is at La Minerva's rooftop restaurant with views of ancient Rome that are as breathtaking as the food.
Day Six
After breakfast on the rooftop of La Minerva Orient Express and one more view of Rome, transport will be waiting to take you to your travel point for your return home.
